Correlation analysis of Parkinson's disease in the acoustic field
Vošček, Jakub ; Mekyska, Jiří (referee) ; Smékal, Zdeněk (advisor)
The topic of this bachelor thesis is the correlation analysis of Parkinson’s disease in the acoustic field. The first part is about the Parkinson disease and its symptoms. It looks closer on problems with speech production, which is called hypokinetic disarthria, and describes the causes of the problems as well as the kind of treatment that is used. The next part involves a study of the pre–processing of signal, i.e. removing the direct component, a preemphasis and a segmentation to smaller frames. Afterwards, individual parameters are calculated in the next step. It is also necessary to calculate simple statistics, for example a median, a standard deviation, etc. after the calculation of some parameters. The calculation of Pearson’s and Spearman’s correlation coefficients is included. Moreover, a block diagram for the data processing is suggested, which involves a description of the functions of the individual blocks. The program is explained in the practical part, which also features parts of the tables with parameters' values and the calculated coefficients. As the conclusion of the work, there are graphs which display correlations of the parameters and the paraclinical data.
Therapy of Voice Disorders

TITLE: Therapy of voice disorders AUTHOR: Michaela Horáková DEPARTMENT: Department of special education SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Miroslava Kotvová ABSTRACT: This diploma thesis deals with the voice disorders and their treatment options. The character of the thesis is mostly theoretical and the thesis is divided into four general parts. The first one elaborates the anatomy and physiology of the vocal tract as a basis for understanding mechanisms of voice pathology development, the second one is devoted to voice disorders and their categorization, and the third part deals with their therapy, as the czech literature reflects it. The last part of this thesis is dedicated to voice disorders therapy in the United States with a practical focus on therapeutical program Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) widely used abroad during the treatment of voice disorders especially connected to Parkinson disease. The program is considered to be very effective and it is really popular outside of the Czech republic. LSVT is not well known in the Czech republic yet and there is actually only limited information devoted to this type of voice therapy. For this reason the thesis is based on analysis and comparison of the available foreign texts in order to inform the czech public about its theoretical basis, structure and system,...
Possibilities of physiotherapy at Morbus Parkinson
VALÁŠKOVÁ, Terezie
Parkinson disease is considered as unhealable. This progressive disease is only possible to slow down thanks to usage of right cure for clinical symptoms and this way prolong life of patients. Because of this is therapy aimed at clinical symptoms as tremor, rigidity, hypokinesis, bradykinesis and postural instability. The most often chosen type of therapy is pharmacological, but internal part of the therapy is physiotherapy as well. First target of this thesis was To chart possibilities of physiotherapy at Morbus Parkinson. This target is described in theoretical part in subchapter 1.10 Possibilities of physiotherapy. Second target was Suggestion and evaluation of therapy at patients at Morbus Parkinson. Practical part of my bachelor thesis was processed by method of qualitative research at 8 patients and this data was processed by form of case reports. Therapy was done nine times at group therapy since January until April 2017. For patients was designed therapy where were used some of possibilities of physiotherapy, that are mentioned in theoretical part. This therapy was evaluated by using results of initial and exit examination. There was no big change in patients' condition during therapy. But is important to say that there is nobody threatened by risk of fall. This thesis can be beneficial especially for patients at Parkinson disease and their close relatives. It can be beneficial for physiotherapists who organize group therapies as well.
Yeast as the model for for neurodegenerative diseases
Motyčková, Věra ; Schierová, Michaela (advisor) ; Zikánová, Blanka (referee)
Yeasts are traditional model organisms, which can be, surprisingly, used for studying neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson, Alzheimer and Huntington diseases. These diseases affect mostly elder population. It's because of decrease of cell control. Common denominator of these diseases are impaired vesicular transport, protein synthesis and degradation, increasing oxidative stress and ROS. The main cause of neurodegenerative diseases is protein misfolding, which provokes cytotoxic protein aggregation. Modified yeast strains can be used to identify genes and proteins that affect cytotoxicity of these key proteins. If these genes have human orthologues, they could be therapeutic targets. The aim of this work is to summarize methods that study causes of neurodegeneration in yeast and to describe the main results discovered in yeast models. Key words: yeast, model system, Parkinson disease, Alzheimer disease, Huntington disease

Specifics of nursing care for patients with Parkinson's disease
BIREŠOVÁ, Zdeňka
Abstract Theoretical part: Parkinson disease is exacting nervous system illness with big impact into patient´s live. Importance lays in nursing care into which general nurses should pay attention. Thesis goal: In research part were chosen two goals. First one was to find out the current state of nursing care for the patients with Parkinson disease. The second goal was to find out what are the specifics in the care for Parkinson disease patients. Method of the research and research group: For the research part was chosen the method of quantitative research with interviewing the patients with Parkinson disease and general nurses who are working at the neurology department. The method of semi-structured interview was used for gaining the necessary information. The research group was made from 8clients with Parkinson disease and 10 general nurses from neurology department. All gained information were word-by-word retyped and with the pen and paper method sorted to the relevant categories. Results: We have found out the misconduct at the doctor side which consists in lack of the information given to the patient about the disease from patient´s research results. The general nurses patiently and unselfishly proved the knowledge of nurse care specifics, importance in regular medicament serving and were support for patients with Parkinson disease. From nurse´s research results concluded that they have very good knowledge about Parkinson disease, however follow up education do not consider that important. Conclusion: From the gained results was find out that general nurses at the neurology department are serving the medicaments to hospitalized patients according their schedule. For patient is most important to have full information, communication, motivation, patience and consideration of the medical personnel to their slower pace. Patients said that it would be convenient if doctors would be more specialized in this disease. Result of this bachelor thesis is to have enough time for patients with Parkinson disease and good knowledge of nursing care specific. Thesis can be used for patients, medics, family member and wide public.
